Second Nature has launched a new branded blog series on the GreenBiz media platform called @edu.
@edu will aim to highlight some of the most exciting and innovative sustainability efforts happening at colleges and universities and share lessons they might hold for corporate sustainability practitioners.
I wrote the first post, published today, titled "What can business learn about sustainability from higher ed." It gives a quick overview of campus sustainability efforts and education for sustainability trends in higher ed, and then takes a look at Arizona State University's ambitious zero waste initiative.
There's rich opportunity for business and higher education to work together in creating a sustainable society. Campuses are natural testing grounds for sustainability solutions and if businesses articulate a demand for sustainability-literate graduates, higher ed will be sure to deliver.
